01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Order using the intercom, then open the collection hatch to find your ice cream emerging through a cloud of white smoke. That theatrical handover is part of the fun at Yoru no ice. Visitors have reported receiving their orders within minutes, and describe the shop as a takeaway spot rather than a place to sit down and eat.
The menu ranges from Japanese-style combinations such as matcha with shiratama, shiratama with kinako, and shiratama with anko, to chestnut Mont Blanc, purple sweet potato Mont Blanc, and chocolate banana. One diner who chose shiratama said the dumplings, wrapped in thin mochi, went particularly well with the ice cream. A family trying several flavours especially liked the purple sweet potato Mont Blanc. Along with the chestnut version, it offers a good starting point if you are deciding between the Mont Blanc options.
You can also start with a classic ice cream and add toppings to suit your taste. Shiratama, anko, kinako and kuromitsu are listed alongside extras such as waffles, Pie no Mi and Oreos, making it easy to lean towards either Japanese flavours or a more confectionery-style combination. If you are unsure what to choose, a classic with shiratama is one option; you can add other toppings from there.
The shop is open from 20:00 until 0:00 the following day Monday to Thursday, and until 1:00 the following day on Friday and Saturday. It is closed on Sundays. It could suit a takeaway dessert after a drink or during an evening stroll.
